Swiss Chard (one 36g serving) contains 1.0 gram of carbohydrate and almost no fat.
Some of that carbohydrate (0.5g) is fiber which means that swiss chard has pretty much no fat and few carbs.
It has 0.5 grams of protein in a whole serving and tons of nutrients. If there was ever a food to lose weight with, it would be this one!
It's almost like eating swiss chard is eating nothing but fiber and water, both of which have no calories so it's a food that delivers pure nutrition with no effect on weight.
You would need to eat about 300 cups per day to maintain your body weight so technically I guess it's possible to gain weight with swiss chard if you were to eat 500+ cups/day, everyday, but good luck with that feat.
Eat and be healthy.
