Bean Sprouts and Antioxidants

Bean sprouts contain lots of them. Antioxidants help protect against free radicals. Free radicals are formed in many ways including; after exercising or exposure to cigarette smoke, air pollution, and sunlight.

There are thousands of different nutrients that can act as antioxidants. The ones we know the most are vitamin C, vitamin E, beta-carotene, selenium and manganese. But like I said there are many more.

An entire cup of bean sprouts contains lost of vitamin C, manganese and many others.

Antioxidants are said to be super foods that would protect us from all kinds of cancers and ills. We don't know this yet and there has been much hype around them. But, it is known that eating vegetables and fruit high in antioxidants will help prevent disease.

Bean sprouts are a very good choice if you are looking to increase your antioxidant intake through your diet. A cup or two gives you lots of nutrition with very few calories.
